Community Comes Together to Build a Medical Room for Abused Kids
UCHealth, Hillside Construction, and Path21 Architects Renovate 136-year old Cottage at Voices Carry CAC
The cottage that sits behind Voices Carry Child Advocacy Center has been lots of things over the years: first, a home for the brothers who built it in 1887, then a milk house for decades, and most recently, a storage spot for an overcrowded nonprofit serving child abuse victims. Enter Matt Bowker and Colette Thompson from UCHealth, along with Sean Rogers from Hillside Construction and John Nap from Path21 Architects.

Fort Collins Cop Turned Author, Jon Holsten, at Putnam and Irish Elementary For Child Abuse Prevention Month
Jon Holsten no longer dons a badge and holster to protect the children of Fort Collins. Instead, he pulls out his beautiful book that has reached thousands of children to teach them how to protect themselves from unwanted touches. In his former career, as a police sergeant and child sex crimes investigator in Fort Collins, Jon investigated and helped prosecute dozens of child sexual abuse cases. His book, The Swimsuit Lesson, helps kids understand the parts of their body that are private, and helps parents have the difficult, but imperative, conversation about child sexual abuse with their children.
